Malteser slice...it's epic by the way...
Traycakes are great. I always make some for the markets I do and they always go down well.
Malteser slice is really easy to make. I think making it white chocolate on top makes all the difference - looks much better than dark or plain chocolate but if you prefer that don't let that stop you!
Here's the recipe!
Ingredients are:-
30grams Digestive Biscuits.
55grams Butter.
3 tablespoons of Golden Syrup.
140grams Milk Chocolate.
150grams Maltesers.
300grams White Chocolate.
extra Maltesers to finish.
Line a 30 by 20cms baking tray with some greaseproof paper and set aside.
Crush the digestives - in a blender or I put them in a bag and bash them with a rolling pin. Fine to have big chunks. Melt butter, syrup and milk chocolate in the microwave - put it in for 30 seconds then 10 second blasts after that. Add digestive biscuits and Maltesers. Mix well. Press mix into your lined tray - pressing with back of a spoon to level it. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave (same as before) then spread over the top of the biscuit mix. Set in the fridge for a couple of hours or overnight then cut into squares. I heat a sharp knife in boiling water to help cut through it nicely.
Enjoy and don't forget my bit!
